This is the second year of my taking Daily Photos and posting one to the Daily Photo gallery each day. The photo you see was taken the day it was posted ( with very few exceptions so far in the second year and no exceptions in the first year). The second year started on March 6, 2009.

You can see the year one gallery here: http://inourtime.smugmug.com/gallery/4468382_VLaHW/1/485853915_kBMcj

The End of Something.

2 years. 730 Daily Photos. Every photo the first year was taken the day it was posted and well over 90 percent of the photos posted the second year were taken the day they were posted.

It's been an interesting learning experience ( although judging from this photo I haven't learned much! ). I plan on taking my photography learning experience in different directions. I hope to improve the quality of my photos among other things. I just don't have the time to take Daily Photos and do all the other things I need/want to do. I still plan on posting lots of photos in my other galleries on here and hopefully will create lots more.

Thanks to all of you who have made comments especially those who were here two years ago and are still here. I wasn't very good about making comments but it was only for lack of time. I really don't know how some of you were able to make as many comments as you did. The quality and creativity of the photography in the Daily Photo community is amazing!

I hope things develop well for you all in the future.

I couldn't resist this shot even though I've posted this building before for two reasons. One it's a great building and the tree and shadows look good and secondly, I hurt my back and I am in agony so I wasn't able to get too far or take many shots today.

For ten years this sign has weathered the elements announcing a concert at a local rock club/restaurant/bar that is quite well known in the area. Time has taken it's toll, and it's doubtful many noticed it when it was put up as it is sort of out of the way or if many noticed it in the last ten years.

Why yes, that is a casket set up on Broadway.

Some Daily Photos just pick themselves.

Ponds have sprouted at nearly every crosswalk making a trap for the unwary. Trust me, this sucker was deep! We're talking 6 inches at least here.

Judging from their overheard comments, this group of people standing nearby thought I was totally insane to be taking photos of this rather distinctive potential hockey rink.

Speaking of Hockey, Go USA! Tomorrow the U.S. and Canada have a replay of their earlier game in these Olympics, which the U.S. won, only this time it's for the Gold.

But, I digress.

I deny knowledge or information sufficient to form a belief as to who caused this alleged snowman to be erected on United States government property.

Today was a cold, wet snowy day with sloppy streets and moats of ice and slush at every street corner. Naturally I took a bunch of photos of the snow falling. I thought they captured the mood well but there was something wrong with each of them, either blurry or ghosts or not the right scene.

So I went with this view across the river toward Manhattan which was barely visible. I had to get the lights along the walkway in the photo or the photo wouldn't show anything but blackness. I like this shot.

But, I wonder if this is a better shot: http://www.inourtimephotos.com/Photography/Daily-Photo-Runners-Up/4834840_AfMZz#797172175_ifcFL Do take a look and let me know which you think is better or if one or the other would be better choice for today's Daily.

As I said, this storm brought wet, heavy snow. A large branch fell from a tree and struck and killed a man in Central Park today. "Never send to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee."
