This is the second year of my taking Daily Photos and posting one to the Daily Photo gallery each day. The photo you see was taken the day it was posted ( with very few exceptions so far in the second year and no exceptions in the first year). The second year started on March 6, 2009.

You can see the year one gallery here: http://inourtime.smugmug.com/gallery/4468382_VLaHW/1/485853915_kBMcj

Union Square Farmer's Market at Union Square park. The granddaddy of green markets and the biggest.

I bet these trees are fresher than at other tree sellers around town.

There's also a Holiday Market with vendors selling various gifts.

Hoboken in the first snowstorm of the Winter of 2009.

I took about 50 shots in the snow tonight, all in black & white. Just trying something different.

I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of snow this year. It's 25 F and the wind is blowing off the Hudson something fierce.

Here is a link to most of the other photos I took tonight. The gallery also contains photos of other snow days in Hoboken. http://www.inourtimephotos.com/Street-Scenes/Hoboken-in-the-Snow/7139148_XkD99/1/745118519_uMcP3

Christmas Tree at the New York Stock Exchange, Broad Street.

I think this is probably the second largest tree in the city after the Rockefeller Center tree, but I could be wrong. It's sort of unknown too. Tourists always go to Wall Street, but I doubt they know there is going to be this huge tree there when they get there and only New Yorkers that work in the area really know about it.

Back in the early 1980's I used to live in the area (way before anyone else) and I used to walk past the stock exchange every day. Before Broad Street was closed to traffic, cars used to drive around the base of the tree and under the branches. Check out the people walking under the branches to get an idea how big it is.

Notice the Menorah and the Kwanzaa kinara (candle holder) on the facade of the exchange, I'm pretty sure they are a recent addition.

Anyway, it was freezing today! Winter is here.

They sure don't make them like this anymore.
