This is the second year of my taking Daily Photos and posting one to the Daily Photo gallery each day. The photo you see was taken the day it was posted ( with very few exceptions so far in the second year and no exceptions in the first year). The second year started on March 6, 2009.

You can see the year one gallery here: http://inourtime.smugmug.com/gallery/4468382_VLaHW/1/485853915_kBMcj

InOurTime > New Year's Day 2009 Daily Photo.

A wintry view of the Empire State Building.

I think I accurately captured the mood of the day. It is winter after all.

Happy New Year to all you Daily Photo Smug Muggers and everyone else who checks out my photos.

And thanks for all of the comments on yesterday's Times Square photo.

Peace.
InOurTime > New Year's Eve, 2009 Daily Photo.

Times Square around 2 this afternoon. It was quite crowded.

The ball drops from the building in the center. You can see 2010 and the pole the ball drops from above the Toshiba ads.

Do you think the bird is an omen?

I wish you all a Happy New Year!

Took a long walk today so I'll be adding photos to my Central Park gallery and maybe I'll make a Times Square gallery.

My 3 year old Imac and MacBook work perfectly and I have no intention of buying a new Mac just yet. However, the small ( 160 and 250) back up drives aren't cutting it with all the photos I have, not to mention music. So....I am hoping this 2 TB back up drive will keep me for a while. Anything I really, really need to save I put on Smugmug in one of my galleries or on me.com (formerly Mac.com), but I still have lots of photos....I can't seem to just delete them....they're like my children...LOL.......so I will save them on this thing.

Since it is still cold ( but much warmer than yesterday) I did not feel like venturing about in search of a shot at lunchtime or after work. So....this is my daily photo.....

Tomorrow, however, I have plans to take lots of interesting shots....I just plan on going where I feel like it at the moment to capture some New Year's Eve daytime activity as I will leave work in the early afternoon. No Times Square ball dropping though as I have no inclination to stand in the cold for hours on end...but maybe I'll get there before they seal it off and take some pics of the early crowd. We'll see.

Anyone know how to use this thing btw? I hope it doesn't take me hours to set up.

Christmas Tree graveyard, St. Ann's, Brooklyn Heights.

It was cold as a ...well....it was cold. Temp was 23F but the wind was a killer. And I left my warm office to walk around looking for a photo. I must be losing it.

Soon as I started taking shots of this, a father and his two kids stopped to look at the trees too. It's funny how people wonder why you are taking photos and start checking out what you're photographing.

These trees were unsold from the tree stand next to the church and I guess they will be used as mulch.

Before Luca Brasi went to sleep with the fishes, he opened a little place in Hoboken.
InOurTime > December 26, 2009 Daily Photo. (Taken 12/23/09)

Peter McManus cafe, 19th Street.

Since it is a miserable, cold, wet, rainy, windy day, I took this from the recent archives. I thought it a fitting photo for my Daily being as it is St. Stephen's Day in Ireland.

Nativity creche at Midnight Mass. Taken when the service ended.

Merry Christmas !
