June 15, 2008. Day 102. I took a lot of photos today in between bouts of rain. It seems I have a great deal to learn ( surprise, surprise). The photos look a lot better through the viewfinder than they do on my computer...they just don't seem crisp for lack of a better word. And I don't know what I am doing wrong. That said, I really like the new camera.
I also have to decide on a decent photo storage/editing program. I am thinking of getting Aperture since I am a Mac person (for the last two years). I also have to decide how many photos to keep since I am keeping too many and am about to run out of memory on my MacBook, although I have enough on the IMac.

on August 18, 2009Spectacular color and comp on this one. I suggest that you buy an external HD (or two) if you don't already have one. Trying to be funny since I have 4 on my home office desk. I believe in back-up redundancy.

on August 18, 2009Great image. The contrast with the background is really stunning. Beautiful tones and nice detail in the highlights. Congratulations on the new camera. While I don't feel there's anything wrong with what I see here, you could actually sharpen it up a bit for screen display if you wanted to. I usually sharpen in Photoshop using Smart Sharpen, but lately, I've been doing this in Windows Live Photo Gallery with the sharpen tool in the "Fix" menu. This is so simpe to apply, but produces excellent results. (If you have Windows XP or Vista, you already have Windows Photo Gallery. The "Live" version is a free download from Microsoft, and has a few extra features.) Good luck!
